Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

My interest started long long ago. My Dad bought an "LED" watch like the Hamilton Pulsar and it was the first cool gadget in the house...well maybe the second if you count the TI calculator that had square root. Until a couple of years ago, my interest would wax and wane. High points were seeing the watch on Live and Let Die (Bond), a soccer referee's omega seamaster soccer, the Ironman Timex from the 90s. I really caught the bug when I gifted some work colleagues a watch for successful completion of a particularly challenging project a couple of years ago.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

Not perfectly sure it was the first but, I think it was a moonphase watch in 80s. I probably also had a digital watch at the time, likely seiko.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

I have a 1917 WWI wrist watch (Waltham) which was engraved with the unit and the name of the person that owned it. He was well known in the area as he shot and killed his brother during an a argument. I manged to dig up the newstory from the time along with locate his grave.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

You do you.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Christopher Ward, Nomos, Baltic, JLC, Vacheron Constantin, H.R. Moser, Mr. Jones, Casio -- my collection is focused on different ways to track and present time along with complications so it is broader rather than deep.
