Discontinued OP colors

So it seems that Rolex decided to silently discontinue a few of the OP colors introduced back in August 2020 today, under the veil of their new releases.

For OP36, yellow and coral red are now gone.
For OP41, yellow, coral red and turquoise are now gone.

No new colors were added to the OP line either, so they're reduced to the more somber colors. The green dial is still available for both sizes though.

Personally I was very excited for the yellow dial OP36 and was on the waiting list for one, but it seems I might've missed my chance.

Will you miss any of these, or were you not really into the brighter colors anyways?

I'm going to sound like a complete douchebag for saying this.... but in truth with all the hype now, and demand far outstripping supply..... most mortals were never going to see them anyway at retail shops.

It's like going to a restaurant to see the menu and there's this item there that's never available everytime you go. And one day they decide to print a new menu without the item - do I feel anything? Probably not :)

Not at all sounding like a douche, and I definitely get what you’re saying. I think while there is a lot of hype, knowing that a watch actually exists and that there’s a chance (while slim and the wait might be long) gives you the enjoyment of looking forward to it, and also doubles as a savings goal. I get enjoyment out of reading reviews and watching videos of a watch I’m interested in, or to paraphrase Evan from You’re Terrific, I enjoy ”watch stalking”.

I wanted an OP36 in yellow and thought that was a really, really cool watch and not your typical Rolex. Don't care for the turquoise, so I’m a bit disappointed. That being said, I’m sure I’ll find something else to stalk, and I get tons of enjoyment out of the watches I actually own.

same here... I am waiting for the OP36 yellow as well -.-

Now I am thinking of switching to a green or just giving up...

For now I have to enjoy my old OP39 white.

Dang on the coral. That was the one I had my eye on. But then again, seeing as I was never going to get any of these, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Part of me truly wonders if they saw the flood of copycats (looking at you Omega) and were like "We're out. We do not want to be part of this anymore." Would not surprise me in the least.
