Calling all vintage Timex afficionados

My father in law gave me a box of his old watches. There was an old vintage Timex Q quartz I'd love to get running again but I can't for the life of me get the damn battery door off.. it will not turn for anything. Anyone ever have this problem?

A little bit of WD40 around the seam of the battery hatch ... let it sit and soak in for a bit.

don't use a coin to try and turn the hatch, instead use a screwdriver that'll fit, but with a longer handle that has good grip (more torque)

SLOWLY and CAREFULLY turn counterclockwise ... good luck!

PS ... once cover is off, check to see if the old battery was left in. If so it may have leaked, which has the potential to have ruined the watch. If not, just clean the hatch area up a bit and replace the battery

Beautiful watch BTW! 👍

Thanks. I hope I can get it open.

I have had to take the entire case back off.

The entire back should come off not just the battery door, it will be SnapBack likely.

So is it running? Suspense is killing me here!
