Waterproof alternative for F91W of similar size?

My 8 year old loves his F91W, but he cannot take it swimming.

I'm looking for, ideally, a Casio alternative that is similarly small, but has more water resistance 100/200m.

What would you recommend, remembering his wrist is tiny and cannot accomodate G-Shock :D

Is there sth out there from Casio or some other company?

First of all, good on you for getting him into watches. Can he fit a Baby G Shock?

Well pretty sure this guy can attest to how waterproof the F-91W is, YMMV.

  1. The watch can be taken off, which is a great habit.

  2. You can absolutely swim with it. It will fail at some point, but almost definitely not the first or second or third time.

Pre-emptively, the F-91W is a 33mm case for all the goofballs that don't have one and will start recommending giant Bloks or something.

Doing my best, it's hard in the world of fitness bands :) Re: baby G, what is the reference number of that one?

It’s also super thin…my daughter watch jacked me on this one.

You’re doing good…you can look it up on Amazon but the model number is BG-169R-1M. It says it’s for women but I selected the black model. 42.9mm might be a tad big though. It does have 200m WR and it’s $50.

Yup, I know. I'm not taking chances though. He wants to check time during his swimming lessons. I will teach him how to take off/take on when he gets his Seagull 1963 in few years time :)

For now, I'd love some alternatives to f91, might be slightly bigger, but please keep it sane.

Fair points, but the Casio isn't destro, therefore not NEARLY as cool..

🫣😜.

Also think Blok does have a smaller one now.

In other news my toddler has completely submerged, and played on a water table with one of her Minnie watches for days now.

Dang thing won't die.....

Have you checked out the G-Shock DW5600? That's the original square. It is thicker and larger than the F91W, but it might still fit him okay, and he would probably like the way it looks. It has a real industrial and sporty look that would look great in the pool, and it's 200 meters water resistant, so no problem at all in the water. Amazon has it on sale for $50. https://www.amazon.com/Casio-G-shock-DW5600E-1V-Shock-Resistant/dp/B000GAYQKY

Hydro mod it, works like a charm!

Thanks, I just checked it on Casio site vs Baby-G BDG-565 and the latter is smaller, yet still higher than fw-91, but I guess that might be hard to beat :)

But that's a killer price for that DW5600... Maybe I will grab one for myself.

Slightly larger than the F91 at 37mm but should fit him and he will grow into the watch soon enough. Or if you don't mind analog then a Casio LRW-200H, comes at 34mm and 38mm lug to lug so should be even smaller and cheaper than a Baby-G plus there are a lot of colour options available.
