Early on, I was always under the impression that titanium > steel simply for its price. When I eyed my first titanium watch and started doing my research, I was surprised to find out that a lot of people avoided titanium watches for the idea that they like to feel the weight of their watch. I didn't think too much about it at the time but I thought it was a valid point and it put me off titanium watches for awhile. Fast forward to a trip to a Grand Seiko boutique and I tried on the heritage spring drives made with titanium. I literally couldn't feel if there was a watch on my wrist and that alone amazed me. No cost of polish too, although that might just be a Grand Seiko thing.
2nd custom made straps - the difference in quality vs a mass manufactured strap is night and day. You're really receiving a product of the same or better quality straps that a luxury brand might offer for $500 or more at less than half the price.
If it's a standard bracelet without quick release pins you'll need a "spring bar tool" but be prepared to scratch your lugs if you do it yourself or leave it to a professional.
I've had this exact problem with the seiko cocktail! Loved it at first, thought it provided such a unique look and feel that was hard to come by at its price range. After the honeymoon phase, I start to get the sense that it's quite large especially for appealing as a very DRESSY watch. The hardlex crystal also domed out too much which doesn't help with overall size. My conclusion on the cocktail lines are - is it unique and cool? Sure. But it sort of fails to do the only thing it's trying to do which is to be a dress watch. It really is a PURE PURE dress watch that should be worn in a formal attire but sort of looks cheap in the sense. Sorry for the hate 😬
Might be the photo but this one looks slightly different to the one I'm used to, especially the bezel looks more flat and clean. What's the reference number on this? Looks nice!
I have the standard panolunar in blue. It is my first and most prized watch. I don't wear it often as I like purely for safe keeping reasons and not wanting to wear it out for daily use. It is a lot more versatile than I first imagined however and I'll wear it as much as I can whenever I go out/client meetings for work even with casual outfits. I wear it at least once a week but definitely not my most worn watch or my 2nd most worn watch.
Haven't seen or know much about this watch but the white here looks a bit beige and makes the whole watch a bit pale imo. I prefer white dials with a bit of contrast or ones that really shine in white such as enamel dials.
