The Only Quartz Watch in my Collection
I have to admit, quartz watches typically don't do anything for me. However, I absolutely LOVE this one!
This is the Seiko x Nano Universe Chronograph reference SZSJ006 if you're not familiar with it.
The first time I saw this was on my IG explore page and I instantly knew I had to have it. The production was limited and it was only available in Japan.
Retail price was around $250, but there are only a few examples available on Chrono24 and eBay and the sellers are asking just over $1000.
Luckily for me, I have a friend in Taiwan who was able to secure this piece and the black dial (SZSJ005) for me at retail price.
Is there anyone else who only has room for one quartz watch in their collection?

Very cool Seiko 👍 I actually have many quartz watches in my collection. We were considering a trip to Taiwan before Covid. Hopefully Taiwan reopens soon and China doesn't invade! I really would like to visit that country someday.

I’m not opposed to quartz, I just find automatic watches more interesting.
I was only in Taiwan for about a week and it was a very interesting trip. I don’t have much desire to go back, but I’m glad that I got to spend some time there. Completely agree about China!

Agreed. I don’t think it’s a $1000+ watch, but I feel like it was worth every penny at retail. It doesn’t get as much wrist time as some of my other watches, but there’s something to be said about a watch that is just fun to wear!
