The primary coloured shapes are Kandinsky, Master of Forms at the Bauhaus. He determined that the dynamics for red, yellow and blue were best expressed by the geometric forms square, triangle and circle respectively :)

But now I think of it, you're also right - those colours were central to Mondrian's work at De Stijl 👍
