Which colors look bigger? Dark watches or light colored watches?
Sometimes I think light colored watches look bigger on the wrist than dark colored ones? Or is it just me?

I think you are correct, yes. Also I am always terrified of scratching the DLC. SS can be polished/brushed out, but DLC you are stuck with it forever. :-(
Black is always slimming.
