I love this watch!

Bulova Hack with cream dial. No, it doesn’t have sapphire crystal but everything else just seems perfect. Superb leather strap, nice distortion from the glass, big signed crown, fine brushing all along and super comfy.

Even better, it’s less than half the price of the khaki field mechanical. Actually I like this one a bit more than the khaki mechanical 😬

I believe there’s also some history to the design as -I believe- Bulova also used to produce field watches during WW2…?

BTW the watch is made in Japan. The strap is made in China but it’s the best quality I’ve seen in a factory strap. Very supple, well stitched and very nice matching brushed hardware

Solid case back, so no movement can be seen. Appropriate for a field watch, I believe. Says “water resistant”, so I’m guessing 30 or 50m. I’ve gone fishing with it and it took the occasional dip in the water with no problems at all.

Value for money! This one will put a smile on your face.

Great alternative to the khaki!

A favorite of mine. And it really doesn't need a sapphire crystal unless you are extremely hard on your watches. In many years of watch wearing I have never scratched a mineral crystal to the point it was noticeable to the naked eye.

To be honest-if this watch is really intended as a WWII homage a plexi crystal would be appropriate.

It's a chunky watch given its size.

Exactly. I guess it’s sort a feeling that you get with some watches that just “feel right” for you. Yes, it is a bit chunky but it feels just right. I have my sleeves rolled up 90% of the time so for me it’s not an issue.

I may be getting the black dial with green strap 😬

It really is and you don’t feel a speck of regret because of the low price.

Looks great, enjoy!

That side profile thickness is crazy.

That side profile thickness is crazy.

Let’s just say this watch is body-positive 😬

It’s 13.5mm but it’s a small watch (38mm) so it looks taller

You are correct that they made watches during WW2. They have the heritage and design and the Bulova hacks are very well done. I own the VWI edition. I got an aftermarket Barton Cordura strap on mine though.

Great watch! Also, a German Shepherd puppy for the win!

German shepherd indeed 🙂

Best breed ever!

These things are super cool, but way too tall for my taste.

I have the black-dial VWI version. It is a great little watch. I wear it with a suede strap and the thickness of the watch is never even noticeable. The mineral glass crystal gives the watch a great look with the distortion at the edges.

Thanks man, 10% of the proceeds go to the Veterans Watch initiative in Odessa, DE. It’s the only horology school that takes combat vets or disabled vets only. Once my son is older and in school I plan on going to see if I qualify for the mechanical watch program.

Yes, I agree. The height even with the NATO strap is not noticeable at all, it wears very comfortable. I actually think that the chunkiness gives it a better presence

We all have watches, tell us more about the puppy!

Really like that watch.
