Right off the pony express my third Winfield in the form of the Carbon Lead, part of the company's Lead Field Watch series.
The Carbon Lead comes with a marble carbon fiber dial, multiple strap options, and a branded microfiber cloth all lovingly swaddled in a waxed canvas watch roll. A stainless steel warranty card is also included, verifying the two year warranty offered by the Maryland-based company.
As always I swapped out the NATO for a 20mm FKM rubber Straphabit confection. Let me tell you, the included strap options are amazing when you consider the cost of the watch as well as it's inherent quality. However I still manage to retain a casually disturbing dislike of minivans, red wax on Gouda and NATO straps. Just sayin'.
Mark Miller is the CEO and "authorized dealer" of this independent who stands behind his product and is an overall pleasure to deal with. Why pay to be abused based on where a watch is made? I like big brands as much as the next person, but the personal touch of smaller concerns grows on you.
