Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

From my friend, shamefully (jk) introducing me to fashion watches, luckily I quickly got rid of them as I purchased my first Seiko I saw on YouTube somewhere (snxs79)

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

Some fashion watch, but real watch was the Seiko 5 SNXS79

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

I have a King Seiko 45-7001 that I purchased not working, I had a friend who knows a watch maker who fixed it (took 3 months and buying replacement parts from Asia) but finally got it back and was able to enjoy the 36000 BP/h smooth sweep - tried selling it to fund my first Rolex (Oysterdate 6694) recently, and did so to someone in France via chrono24, but the delivery service i chose couldn't figure out to deliver it to the buyer's address, so it got returned to me and I took that as a sign that I should keep it ๐Ÿ˜…

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Forget about fashion watches (Gucci, jaguar, Daniel wellington) these are just overpriced AliExpress watches with even worse quality. Look into Seiko 5, especially some of the older models like SNXS79 and snkl23, nice original designs and automatic movements for little money - finishing is not the best but nice for what you pay.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Tudor, Longines and Oris.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Rolex Explorer 36, great history, quality, dimensions and it looks beautiful. Honourable mention would be the Grand Seiko 62GS (love the design and I'm a fan of GS, movements and finishing) but waiting for the 38mm versions to roll out and prices to drop!
