Planet Ocean 2500C Movement

My wife got my a watch tool kit for Easter so I thought I’d open my planet ocean up to see the movement. Fascinating!

You might want to get that serviced, the gasket looks pretty worn and the crown doesn't look great.

I’d say the crown is a little dirty but looks fine, there’s no sign of metal dust or any other blatant wear. Though I will contend that opening a watch like this will put its water resistance in jeopardy and potentially introduce a lot of dust/debris that watchmakers are controlling (and could be a problem).

*laughs in Vostok gasket*. I try to make sure my area is very dust-free whenever I out a different caseback on it

Wish I could find the WUS video of “uncle Kolya” cleaning a watch movement in gasoline in a mason jar on a vibrating tool. Probably would make many people’s jaw drop but I haven’t read anything bad about the guy lol

Please don’t punish me! Most YouTube “watchmakers” have a lot of poor technique, there are very few putting out videos of high quality and proper technique

Yes the crown looks fine but it does look like something is caught around it that might be the crown gasket.
