Mystery Hamilton

Calling on all Hamilton lovers!!!

I picked up this piece a few months ago and I’m curious if anyone knows any of its history. It has a few interesting and unique details that make me curious what its story is.

For some context, I spoke with Hamilton and they said that it’s a ladies Jazzmaster that was produced August-December of 2005.

It has 6 rubies set in floral design on the crown guards.

On the minute hand, it has an engraving that reads “The goat and the tree”. I asked Hamilton what this means, and they said it’s in reference to a position in the Kama Sutra.

It sports a genuine python leather strap.

I’m mostly curious if anyone has information on why the rubies are there and why the engraving is there. It was all done by Hamilton and the watch was new old stock when I bought it. If you know anything, please let me know!!!!

Hey there it is again! Still looks amazing. I was going to ask if you have some info, but I'll have to save this post and see what the crunches have to say. Cheers!

I’ve seen this model family before.

I’ve seen the flowers/jewels on the case before.

I have NEVER seen the hands engraved like that lol.

I refuse to believe this wasn’t a piece unique request or a super tiny batch of custom orders.

Interesting! I haven’t seen the other ones with the jewels but it makes sense that there would be others. And yeah the engraving is definitely something different 😂 but Hamilton did seem to say that it was intentional and done by them so I guess it was like a limited batch or something entirely unique 🤔 hopefully someday we can get to the bottom of it! Thanks for your comment!

Seems like Hamilton was able to give you a few answers. Engraving is a bit strange, but with so many limited or special editions out there, it could be something that was set up for a certain market. The rubies are purely decoration. I've seen other Hamilton ladies watches with similar feature, or a decorated case back.
