King Turtle - SRPE03 Approved!

The King Turtle is on my list of first watches to collect, and I just recently tried on the similar sized SRPJ35 and confirmed it feels and fits good to me:

My AD let me know today that they can special order an SRPE03 retail $625, but will sell to me for a very good deal and I have a store credit (that I just found out about the other day). The wife just gave the go ahead to spend this fairly large sum on a watch! Do I pull the trigger?

One thing I found out is that I cannot get the Made in Japan version, SRPE03J. Which means I won't have the cool English/Japanese switchable day wheel. Is this something I can mod after the fact?

I think I'm going to do it! It's happening!

Do it! And you can get OEM Kanji day wheels pretty easily. It's not a hard mod either, I like to try to color match the day and date wheels. I did it to my Sheiko.

How difficult was it to remove the cyclops? Did you wait until after the warranty was done?

I removed the cyclops the day after I got the watch (which purchased new). Let’s just say the way I removed the cyclops was not for the faint of heart. I literally took a Zippo lighter, heated up the cyclops and chiseled it off. The cyclops shattered, I then removed the remaining bits of the cyclops and applied acetone which removed the excess adhesive and smoothed out the crystal. It came out perfectly and the watch is fine but I sure as hell wouldn’t try that again.

I mean I guess it's nice to know this watch can literally take a beating!
