Question re: Casio G5600/5610 series

Hey guys,

I think after research, posting here and your guys’ advice, I’m leaning towards a 5600/5610 series Casio as my daily driver to replace my beat up current tough solar watch. I was wondering what the difference is between the G-5600UE-1JF and GW-M5610U-1ER? From what I’ve read and watched on YouTube it that the 5600 doesn’t have multi band 6? It seems everything else is the same such as the backlight, size etc. I do like the look of the 5600 more (no red stripe around the screen) but if the 5610U is the “better” watch as in more up to date, then I wouldn’t mind that. In the end not having MB6 is not a deal breaker.

And last question, is the DW5600 same size as the 5610 as far as the screen size? I’m obsessed about putting screen protectors on watches since they don’t have sapphire lens.

Thank you in advance. 👍

You are correct that the only difference between the GWM5610 and the G5600U is the G5600U does not have MultiBand 6. I am not sure about the exact size comparison, as my calipers are broken, but to the eye, the G5600U is the same size as the DW5600.

p.s. I prefer the GW5000U over either the GWM5610 or the G5600U. 😁

I think the 5610 is slightly smaller but I don’t have calipers with me. Love it!

That’s good to know. Thank you 🙂oh yes, GW5000U is nice too but more $ from what I’ve seen.

Yes, it is double the price of the GWM5610 on the Casio website, although you can find it for less. I feel that it is worth the extra money for the softer strap, full steel case, and screw-on case back. It has become my go to G Shock anymore and is one of my favorite watches in my collection.

I’ll keep that one in mind for sure when I do my research. Amazon has them for sale as well. Probably cheaper than the actual Casio site.

I assume since you haven't mentioned a use, that mainly you are just look for the time? If so 5610, if something more I would go a different direction, since setting timers/time on both of these g shock squares can be tough because of button(s)

You’re correct. Mostly for time just like my old beater watch. Maybe occasional timer once in a while but that’s it. I mean I do like watches with more options like the ProTreks for example but I don’t really need those options at the same time and found those watches to be just not comfortable on my wrist.
