Sleek Swiss Beginnings: Rado Diastar Ceramica

This is my first swiss watch.

I’m a lifelong Casio fan. The first watch to give me the “bug” is a G-Shock.

I’ve also toyed with Seiko(s). Citizen too. I loved every bit of them.

But I must admit, dawning a Swiss timepiece gave me a kind of energy I’ve never felt before.

Especially this one in particular. I’ve never been this happy with a purchase.

The smooth ceramica coating over a slim, square watch face that follows the curvature of your wrist creates an extremely comfortable wear.

The minimalist dial with the lack of a seconds-hand emulates a certain kind of elegance, one that bleeds out of the watch.

This thing makes me want to lounge about in sweatpants and then rush to a gala dinner or something. It will not look out of place.

And in case you haven’t noticed, I’m still in the honeymoon phase. So this is definitely not a review.

But something tells me the love won’t fade.

Which is such a “honeymoon phase” thing to say.

Dammit.

What’s your first Swiss watch?

Fantastic looking Rado!

I don't hate all things modern, and this Rado is proof of this.

I know I have a watch that is ...oh yeah, the Universal Geneve that I wore two days ago. I don't assign the same magic to nation of origin, apparently.

I assure you that this watch will look like new 20 years from now. My wife has had a Rado Jubileé ceramic for 15 years already and it looks like the day we bought it.

Edit for photo. It’s very reflective and hard to get a good shot.

Some things just bleed a different aura
