In need of help picking a watch to celebrate a life event

Hello guys !

I recently concluded a civil partnership with my SO, and I wanted to celebrate by getting a "partnership" watch (it's the waiting room for the wedding watch ๐Ÿ˜‚). I pre ordered a Serica 6190 that came today, but sadly the watch doesn't fit my 6.1 inch wrist.

Budget is around 1kโ‚ฌ, but may add more,, and I would like something that will last a very long time with proper management, with a case size of 36-37mm and lug of about 45mm, and an automatic movement. I may break the bank with a BB54 but I need you guys to convince me otherwise.. for now !

Do you guys have any idea ?

The โ€œwaiting roomโ€ watch is hilarious ๐Ÿ˜‚ Try Baltic

Maybe a kuoe? Made in kyoto, very classy designs and their watches range from 35mm-38mm sizes. VERY affordable to and with tons of options for every model

Congratulations!

The CW Twelve comes in 36mm now I believe. They are a pretty great deal for around $1k.

Good suggestion I will look at it, although I will have to factor in the import taxes

Looks like a very well built with however I really dislike the brand logo :(

Congrats! There are a few very nice 36mm Farer watches. Also the Twelve 36mm. You could go for the 35mm PRX?

But .. go ahead and break the bank! ๐Ÿฆ

Whats a "civil partnership", and what does "SO" mean ..(feeling really fckn old right now"

I would suggest the Baltic MR01. It has a classic look and a micro rotor automatic movement for under 600 euros!

Hey Ben,

Congrats on your civil partnership!

This is a tough question as I donโ€™t know what kinds of watches youโ€™re into. You have a lot of choices with a 1k euro budget, might be interesting to take a look at:

1) Sinn 556 - 38.5mm diameter but itโ€™s l2l is right at your target 45mm.

2) Hamilton Expedition - field watch meets dive watch with practically useless but hella cool bezel haha.

3) Lorier Neptune/Falcon - this is exactly what youโ€™re looking for in terms of size (both diameter and l2l) you can then choose if you prefer divers or adventure/tool watches.

Not knowing what style of watch you're looking for, Christopher Ward has some nice 36mm and 39mm models in their lineup that you might like.

Hi, a civil partnership is a form of union in France. It's mostly for administrative purposes but it has some obligations like you would with a marriage (like being of financial support for each other being now an obligation). And SO means significant other

Wow Farer looks so good and colourful ! The diver looks to be amazing and well proportionate, thanks for the suggestion ! The PRX was on my list but it doesn't feel as special to me

Indeed it is a very interesting choice. I don't quite like the numbered dial, but I like the second hand ! And a MR at this price point is nice
