If Rolex rereleased these!

I work in sales and had a customer wearing the black dial tow tone oysterquartz and it was beautiful! Something I’d never seen before and didn’t even know existed. Recently I’ve thought, what if Rolex rereleased this model, similar to how the PRX was rereleased with both larger and smaller sizes. I think it would, one, bring more attention to the alternatives like the PRX and, two, be a nice refresh to the Rolex line to have a sports watch with an integrated and maybe even a quartz movement. I know a little far fetched for it to be quartz but even if they made it an automatic it would still be a major release with a lot of hype.

Definitely a good idea and it could bring back the Rolex tool watch if Rolex came out with a high accuracy quartz movement, however I think it would be very unlikely.

It's a shame that they gave up on quartz. They did it well. Now that quartz is obsolete as well, maybe they can remember how to make them. Journe can do it, and they make a some thousandth the quantity that big boy Rollie does. It would be really sweet if they had learned to make them smaller than they did a quarter century ago, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

I have this bad boy in champagne dial..

To me the battons are lost on the dark dial

To me the battons are lost on the dark dial

It’s not like that in person. The lighting in the picture just isn’t picking them up. In person, to me, it’s the best color option.

Would be more likely Tudor to bring this back than Rolex as Rolex don't go back but leave the retro stuff to Tudor.

However if it came back its very unlikely it would be a quartz.

I think the Tudor royal is about as close as it gets

Always loved the Oysterquartz, would love to see it come back someday.

The one and only Rolex left in my collection. I've owned Submariners, GMTs, Explorers and Daytonas but sold them, all of them giving me a very good profit, especially the Daytonas.

This ref 17014 is the one I just couldn't let go.
