Did you see the BBC reportage "Hunting the Rolex rippers" What do you think, is it realistic?

The BBC took us on a wild ride with their reportage, "Hunting the Rolex Rippers." Did you catch it? If not, you might want to add it to your watch list!

Is this investigative journey into the clandestine world of Rolex thefts as real as it seems... If it's even remotely close to reality, it's sending shivers down our spines.

What are your thoughts?

Do you think they've added a touch of Hollywood drama for the extra flair? And seriously, if this is the real deal, it's a bit spooky, isn't it?

Just did some Googling. 6000 watches stolen, worth £50,000,000😱

Not seen the BBC film.

1) How many are planned?

2) Are there more thefts in Summer when watches are generally more visible.

3) Are the watches targeted, or are they just a part of the haul, other jewellery, cash?

Wouldn't take much to notice an expensive car/ celebrity, and assume the occupants carry expensive items.

4) Guess it's more prevelant for residents?

Aye, probably dressed up a bit but it’s for real, as I said in a comment few days ago, young man off to Watchfinder to get rid of his watch cause his mate has been stabbed 7 times for his watch!

But it’s ok, here in Blighty we are allowed to defend ourselves against attackers with a wry smile but don’t over do it or they may get PTSD and sue you or worse still you could be done for using excessive force against poor little Johnny cause it’s not his fault 🤬

Oh! Sorry, I missed this one 😕

·

So BBC is able to find and interview these criminals but the police can’t.

When I say it’s happening it is, how much it happens I have no idea, my sister in laws Uncle was robbed in his own home by 3 men who had followed him from the pub he had been to! Broke through the patio doors tied him up and beat him asking where the watch was, he’s nearly 70!

That was earlier in the year! On the subject of dodgy BBC reporting how many people on here heard about the suspected IED blowing up a ULEZ camera? Or has that been swept under a carpet by them?

Some countries have a severe deterrent. We need something. Bring back the pillory - that would make them think twice.

You're as likely to have your watch stolen from your wrist in United Kingdom as you are likely to be a victim of a mass shooting in the United States.

Interpret this how you wish.
