Hello!

Hey everyone,

Just saying hi! I'm not only new to WatchCrunch, I'm new to watches in general. I think my path here is probably quite a well-trodden one: I'd never worn any kind of watch since I was a child, then got an Apple Watch a while back. That led me to looking up terms - what the hell is a complication? - and I found myself poking around on watch sites and staring at the pictures, feeling a faint tickle of ... something.

Not knowing what the hell I was doing, I bought a quartz Seiko, just to dip my toe. It seemed to have no advantages over my Apple Watch and I just couldn't see the point. Never even wore it outside the house and gave it away to a grateful nephew. Still, I kept feeling that tickle. I did some reading and bought my first automatic, another Seiko. Cue heavenly choirs and sunlight piercing the clouds. 'Ohhhhhh .... the point is it's a little MACHINE.' I'm only a couple of months (and two watches) into this and I'll never have the budget for the high end, but I feel ominously hooked.

Nice to be here!
