Grilling with a mechanical chronograph

Who else finds great joy in using a mechanical chronograph to time something, even though it could be done much more efficiently by digital means?

Grilling is what I mostly time with my dive watch. The Lorier Gemini is at the top of my next list for this reason. An hour bezel on a chronograph would be perfect for smoking. Elapsed hours for the cook and chronograph for spritzing. Or am I just way overthinking it?
