Perfect Military/Explorer watch?
I was pondering what watch would be the perfect Military/Explorer watch and I had some ideas.
Please note: This is for mechanical watches. I know there are some great G Shocks and etc. out there, but for today I’m looking only at mechanical watches.
Where do you start? Well I started by looking at some of the watches that I own.
This is a great place to start. Marathon watches are fantastic watches designed and used by both Military, Search and reduce and police. Draw back. Over $1000 USD
Another great watch and at a much better price point is the Glycine combat. I love this watch but to be honest, the lume is terrible and the bezel is hard to grasp.
Another of my favorites is my Timex titanium north explorer. Great watch especially at the price point it is. It’s down fall is, first it doesn’t have a rotating bezel with numbers for diving. Second is it’s lume is also terrible.
My last watch almost completely fits the bill for what I believe would make a great Military/Adventure watch. Let’s take a look.
First is the price. I purchased mine for under $200 USD. Need a good price so our military can afford one, not to mention the rest of us.
The case is a very rugged and lite poly carbon case. Mine has done very well so far without any damage.

Easily turntable bezel
Screw down crown
Crown at 4o clock so not to dig into wrist
NH35 movement
And here is the best part,
T100 tridium tubes! They are also fantastic.

The down side,
Well the tridium tubes are great when you get to complete darkness but till them I wish this watch also had super BG lume on the numerals and bezel. Wow, that would be perfect in my book.
Other then that I wish it had some shock resistance. It may have some but if so I don’t know about it. All in all this watch fits my expectation of what I want in a Military/Adventure watch. Maybe if everyone writes to Deep Blue, they might add some BG lume on the indices for us. Hope you enjoyed.

Personally I enjoy CWC. A military history in a wearable case.
First of all, you have a great collection. Second, I knew Hamilton as the "best" military watch, but that was until I met Cabot Watch Company (CWC).

Not necessarily an Explorer watch but I personally rock my Citizen Fugu for deployments and it's damn near perfect for what I need it for.
