I am new to watch collecting and bought my first watch - Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic (grey) - this year. Over the future years I plan on expanding my collection. Aesthetically I’m into a watch that is well made and nice looking to wear and that I like rather than being swept into a name for the sake of it.
Merry Christmas to me - Islander Northport “fireball” I’ve been after for a while.
Lovely looking watch with vibrant colour, good lumination and fantastic dial. Only available new from Islander so requires US import if not US based s...
Yeah the dials look great. Apparently each dial has a distinctive pattern and the colour ranges reflect colours found on the Montblanc glaciers. Who knows if it’s true could just be marketing BS but it looks nice 🤣 I’m not a fan of straps personally I think they’re about £200 cheaper with a strap but the bracelet suits it well. They’re often pictured with the strap so can see why you’d think that.
The Montblanc? I got the grey one. Wearing it in my profile picture. Lovely watch (in my opinion). Crap quality picture though 🤣I was going to get the blue which I also liked but I figured down the line there’s loads of nice blue divers and the grey looked a bit different.
Thanks everyone for the advice. It’s certainly not something I’ll be buying for some time. My dad was an avid pen collector before passing away and his prized possession was a Montblanc so I recently purchased a Montblanc Iced Sea 1858 (which looks stunning) kind of because I loved it and it honours him in a way I knew he’d appreciate (as I’m not in to pens) and to make it special I wanted to get it from a Montblanc (Bond St London) so I’ve done my splurge - moving forward I’m interested in watches that have a decent kudos and look nice without being silly (no Rolex for sure). Breitling was a few doors down and these just stopped me in my tracks.
Since my Montblanc purchase I’m getting the bug and looking at what I might save up for in future. I think the second hand market is the way to go on this from what you’ve all said if they don’t really hold their value.
Thanks for the tip on cheaper watches - I like the look of a lot of Seiko Prospex models (you can probably tell the look I like 🤣).
Hi. I’m new to here and to luxury watches in general. I saw these in the Breitling shop in London and thought they looked stunning. Any opinion on wha...
