Vero Workhorse Backcountry vs Casio Mudmaster

So I’d like to get a “tough” watch for work with a beige/tan/canyon color. I was going to get a Casio Mudmaster, but I happened to come across ol Jory Goodman’s review of the Vero Workhorse Backcountry. My heart is leaning toward the Workhorse because it’s something slightly different…does anyone have any experience with the Workhorse or Mudmaster?

No experience of the Workhouse but I very briefly had a MudMaster and it was enormous! No idea what size your wrists are but it was way too big for me - in many dimensions but particularly the height/thickness.

I switched that ultimately for a ProTrek but I don’t think I would be recommended this for work - if that’s heavy labour in mucky conditions.

Need more Vero.

What conditions would you be facing at work?

Genuine question btws. That could help with answers and/or experiences.

I have a mud master, very rugged, great functionality etc, etc but I find it impractical in the winter (sometimes) as due it being a lump it can be hard to gain access to via several layers of clothing.

So I have fairly large wrists, but I hear ya. I work in law enforcement, so I assume “mucky conditions” could be appropriate lol

Law enforcement. So basically handling “bad guys”? Lol I know the Mudmaster would be just fine for that, but I kinda wanted something different. Plus, I really like that Vero is “American” (at least by design) lol

That’s a great point. I like the Mudmaster, but I just really love the design of the Workhorse and I feel like I never see them around. Lol Nico Leonard would be so upset 🤣

I'd say go for it. It's basically a different take on a "Tuna" style.

I'm looking at their first service variants myself.

I work in a tactical/kinetic environment in several capacities.

Here's one of my dailies..5 year anniversary gift, and I like to be tactically classy 😂 😆.

I did see TT’s review of the Vero and it would certainly be something different as I’m guessing GShocks are fairly mainstream in law enforcement.

Would need to go back and check but I think it was the width after the crowns/pushers that made me hesitate probably that and the price after shipping and customs to get it here. Whereas the ProTrek was way less.

Certainly the height of the Vero is way better than the MudMaster that I tried - GWG-1000 series I think; it was nice and light but 16mm plus high!
