Merci x Archiwatch

Sharing another one from the collection today.

This watch was created as a collaboration between - Merci (a French lifestyle company selling everything from tablecloths to clothing) and Archiwatch (a specialty vintage watch dealer).

The matte dial blends different tones of grey and white and it’s outlined by 3 layers consisting of hour, minute, and second tracks.

As is the case with most watches, it is the little details that can make or break a watch. In this case the 12 hour breguet marker and the matte blue seconds hand do enough to push this already sophisticated design to the next level.

Priced at 650 euro this watch punches well above its price point and can easily be dressed up or down. I will say that I wished they had included a sapphire Crystal instead of acrylic, and an automatic movement option would have been nice as well. For those wondering, I paired the watch with a 7 row beads of rice bracelet.

This is such a pretty watch! Love the simplicity!

This is a very good looking watch. The dial presentation is very clean and I like how the hand length tells you which dial it is pointing to. The case is nice, and to me it looks larger than 38mm. But, I think, the lugs stick out a bit too much.

But I do not see how this watch punches above its 650 Euro weight. It has a generic Sellita movement, and we do not know even what grade of the movement it is. It is hidden behind metal case back. The strap is comes with is a simple black nato strap, nothing special. If you want a bracelet, it is extra 79 Euros, and that is not even a nice bracelet as you have.

In their description they say "The LMM-01 is a connected watch... with the present moment." What does this mean?

I think it is a very good looking watch, but for that price you can find a few "more interesting" pieces.

Please, remember, this is just my opinion.

Lol! This is just most likely marketing nonsense as usual.

You make some very good points in regards to the movement, strap, etc. My comment about the watch punching above its weight was hinting more at its design. Usually a lot of watches at this price point do not look as sophisticated and may have more generic designs.
