Casio Lineage Anadigi Titanium Multiband Solar Review

This (LCW-M100TSE-1AJF) is a watch with styling that speaks to subdued elegance and quiet professionalism. If there is one watch that compares in terms of function and price its probably the G-Shock 5610u and related lines, which have an obvious advantage for divers and other high water pressure situations (and professional drivers at night) and a disadvantage in cost/appearance ratio. The Lineage is 50m resistant-- plenty for me in general-- but the construction is probably tougher than it sounds, withstanding many a bump from me with but a scuff on the bracelet to show for it. The beep is nice and loud and the beep patterns vary a bit versus each other. I like that it is without dial numerals, which for me are generally unnecessary appendages. On the other hand, I love that the digital display is essentially always readable, in spite of periodic crossover from minute and second hands, so I don't have to worry about being disoriented to a digital display function such as a countdown timer, world time, etc. Another important feature, common to all multiband ana-digi Casios, is that the analog and digital automatically sync to each other based on the official radio broadcast "atomic" clocks, in all a major improvement over Vintage anadigi movements from Casio and similar offerings from other companies.

For me, the selling point was the combination of look and function. I suspect that its appearance owes something to smooth bezeled Rolex oysters and similar looking watches-- chromic highlights, easy to read in part due to an antireflective sapphire crystal, thin, and not too large a lug. See my gallery for more of this watch. See Brent Spiner on Wil Wheaton's show or Kieran Culkin on early seasons of Succession for more expensive alternatives with a related look.
