What are your problems with your favorite brand?

Pictured: pads making up for the imperfectly sized links of my analog-digital solar atomic Casio Lineage

They say you always hurt the ones you love. I barely wear anything else, but I also don't get what's driving many Casio marketing decisions. I don't get the absolute unending excess of low-end basically gray or black mostly plastic watches. Also, they have been marketing for how many years their intent to transition to full solar lines? And yet when a new affordable Casio watch -- props for this happening as often as it does -- if there's some color, it's inevitably pricing out their main consumers simply by being 3-30x more expensive than entry level models, and/or it's powered by a battery, or there is basic design issue. Analog-digital, for example, is a Casio favorite, but is so rarely done well. Inside the U.S. market, you are basically guaranteeing partial mission failure of countdown/stopwatch functions when the analog hands cross the digital window in such a way that the digits are obscured. Why not just make it all digital, or maybe do something exciting like project the digital display above the analog? I dont have all the answers but I would love to see U.S. market Casios with color+quality+economy+environment awareness. I find it oddly frustrating how far from perfect my favorite hardware brand is.

Casio is a maker of cheap watches... and they do well selling cheap watches. If a F91-W cost as much as a Timex T-80 would anyone buy them?

Clearly Casio also makes more expensive and nicer watches, but their bread and butter is cheep and cheerful. Going back to the F91-W, why do you think a watch like that is still in production? It's entirely because Casio doesn't want to waste money/effort making better, but more expensive watches in that "class".

All that said, Timex pisses me off because they keep putting the Atlantis/Explorer line in and out of production in North America. I just want a plain black Expedition with the old school Velcro strap.

I just got a Panerai and am a full on paneristi now I love this watch so much but the lack of AR coating on the crystal is crazy at this price point as this watch msrp was 7,900. Is there any reason as to why one wouldn’t put AR costing? Not one I can think of
