around 3 years ago , I was shown a Rolex submariner by a friend & there it started.
an expensive but enjoyable journey so far. I have around 40 pieces at present.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
a sekonda , when I was around 10 years old.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
my clemence photic.
Scotland isn’t a country really associated with watch making.
after watching some YT reviews I reached out to clemence brand founder , Tom. we met up for coffee on my birthday last year &then I made my purchase - it has been in my rotation ever since.
I always keep an eye on his website & I believe there is something in the pipeline.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
research pieces thoroughly , if you do not & you simply purchase them for collection/hoarding purposes - they’ll not stay in lasting memory long & you may not appreciate them as much as you could’ve otherwise.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
all of them.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Rolex oysterquartz. I like the genta connection & the fact it was a knee jerk reaction by Rolex to the rise of quartz tech / seiko.
