Issues and what is normal - C65 Dune GMT Limited Edition

Hey y'all, I am having an intermittent issue that I would love to get your thoughts on.

Context recently purchased a second-hand CW C65 Dune GMT Limited Edition from a private collector. Great seller, the watch is in great condition, so this is not about the sale, but I am having an issue with the automatic winding works and the hand winding (I think).

What I am experiencing is that it will stop working intermittently. when the crown is unscrewed to the 1st position (hand winding position), the hand winding feedback is minimal, but I can hear the works turning but the second hand will still be stopped regardless of how much the watch is wound.

Then, when the crown is pulled to the second position (GMT and date setting position) nothing happens. From the second position back to the first position still no hand movement.

when set to the third position (minute and hour setting position) and then pushed back to the first position, it starts again. This is strange to me.

Additionally, the self-winding works appears to go from being stuck to moving freely when the sequence above is over. It's hard to tell exactly what frees it and what causes it to stick.

So my question for this community is:

Can anyone confirm that the hand winding feedback that I am experiencing (little to no resistance and very little sound) is normal for an SW 330-2 movement or this watch?

Is hand winding a feature of this movement? Between the manufacturer and caliber corner, i can't seem to find a clear answer for this particular movement.

Does this seem like something that would require a service?

Thanks in advance to all who read this and respond. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Send it to CW for service, it sounds like you have a faulty movement.

I also have the Dune GMT LE and I am not experiencing that, it sounds like there’s an issue with the movement. From a full stop, I can give it about 10 winds and the second hand will begin moving and no issues with the automatic winding.

I would agree, although depending on when the problems manifested themselves, you might want to address this with the seller.

Comparing your experiences with my Sealander GMT- the hand winding is super smooth. There is just slightly more resistance clockwise than counterclockwise. Second hand starts moving after fifteen or so turns, which is consistent with my other Sellita movements. Pulled out to the GMT/date position, the second hand keeps running. Hacks at full out to change time. None of this affects the self winding.

Your movement shouldn't be acting that way.

I think you have an issue that needs to be serviced.

Thank you all for the perspectives and insight. Much appreciated. I think servicing is in order.
