Factors to consider:

Iโve only had quartz watches so far
I have no real need for either functions: diving or to track multiple time zones.
Any reasons are welcome ๐

I would encourage trying them in a Seiko boutique if you can, as both of these wear quite differently than their dimensions might suggest.
The SKX case design is big and top-heavy but with short lugs (42mm diameter, 46mm L2L) making it easy to wear on smaller wrist without overhang. But due to that big size, it will still have a lot of presence on the wrist and look like a big watch. If you don't care for the GMT function, I would highly recommend looking into the SRPK line instead, which are a 38mm scaled-down version of the iconic SKX design and might look better on your wrist overall. The 38mm SRPK also comes with a narrower 20mm bracelet which greatly reduces the visual bulk of the watch.
The Solar prospex is exactly the opposite. It's a 38mm diameter case that looks small on wrist, but with longer lugs proportionally (46.5mm L2L) so it looks elongated and could overhang slightly on a small wrist.
My wrist is 16.5cm but rather flat and I can just barely pull off the 48mm L2L of the SPB187 and the 46mm L2L of the SKX007. If I had to do it again today, I would buy a 38mm SRPK instead of 42mm.

Sound advice, thank you.
Those are 2 great choices. But I agree that its best you drop by your Seiko AD to try out different watches. Thereโs a ton to pick! Literally. Enjoy the journey!๐
I second the motion of @Beanna
Seiko Solar on a LongIsland Jubilee.
The perfect take on what a modern day sub should be. YMMV.
I have 6.25โ and this is how my SRDP looks on my wrist comparing to CW 63 Selander (39mm).
Then a side comparison of the 2 watches.
However, it is best to go to an AD and try for yourself.
I prefer my CW.

Whatโs the case size of your Seiko and respective lug to lug lengths?
