Similar, but different - the Sinn U50 // Tudor FXD side by side

While wearing the U50 this past week I was asked how it compared to the FXD. Inspired me to take a closer look at them together, including without their straps. They hit some similar notes, but wear a bit differently depending on strap choice.

Any other owners of these two have thoughts on them individually or as a pair?

this is a very useful side by side photo, thank you for posting it.

How is the comparative thickness of the two?

My pleasure. Thickness is comparable, see attached pic. Honestly, with the strap on the FXD, the 'visible' lug to lug isn't far off, either.

I fell in love with the Pelagos FXD the minute I saw it during the announcement. But I can't afford it as a college student... Hopefully the lug design catches and we see more similar watches for less $$$...

Both watches are absolutely gorgeous

I like both watches. They look very good. The Sinn is for me little bit more modern. The Tudor more vintage. The Tudor looks bigger. I believe that you have a perfect pair of different watches to be used with different straps and clothes !!

I like both as well, but I think I prefer the Sinn.

I love the FXD because it feels "special"... to me it's a watch that only a watch lover is gonna know about (regardless of if you love or hate the design). To be fair, Sinn watches are also "deep cut" watches that typically only known by watch enthusiasts.

Wow that’s an interesting side by side. Makes the Sinn look much smaller!

Both look fabulous. The Tudor is in my sights!
