From a thread at WUS is one of the best ideas I have seen…roast your own collection!
This is fun and much needed. No watch is perfect but that doesn’t mean we don’t love what we own.
And self-deprecating humor is always the best sort.
So here are my issues:
Sinn 556A-RS
Date color wheel matches the dial perfectly and is BLACK with no light reflection. How am I supposed to see a date this small? Anyone have a loupe I can borrow?
Sinn 356 Fleiger
Man, this sucker is thick. Otherwise is flawless. Did I say how thick it is? Like triple cheeseburger thick.
Sinn 104
Green is indeed the new black. And the highly polished parts are the newly scratched.
Sinn 105 UTC
One of the most comfortable watches I own. Wears smaller than it looks. Superb brushed finishing. Bezel looks like plastic. GMT hand has a weird shape.
CW C63 Sealander
Incredible clasp that should be the industry standard. Green dial is unique but a bear to photograph. What kind of name is “Sealander?” Lume sucks. Badly.
Ollech & Wajs P104S
Speaking of bad lume. Might as well be none. Seriously. Lume doesn’t charge even in bright sun. And a stamped clasp…STAMPED on a $1K+ watch. But the dial is to die for and the crown is fantastic. A favorite instantly.
Formex Essence Thirtynine
First one that came, the crown pulled right out of the watch. Absolutely phenomenal CS and had a replacement in just days. And they sent me additional links for free. The floating case design really is more comfortable. One of the best made watches I have owned at this price.
Certina DS-1 125th Anniversary
Incredibly well made and finished watch and bracelet at grey prices. Not exciting in the least. Clasp lock will quickly and completely remove your fingernail by the root.
Orient Ray II/Kamasu/MAKO USA II
Great starter autos. Dazzling dials and comfortable to wear. Bracelets all rattle and the crowns are too small. Petite crowns with guards too large. Crown guards too large. I feel like a giant trying to wind the baby sized crowns. I think Orient stole the crowns off dress watches.
Casio DW-291H-1BV -With 10 year battery
Can’t kill it. Great red color scheme. Have to get the manual out to adjust the time. Light won’t stay on long enough. Watch battery may outlive the owner.
RZE Resolute
Great, original design. Dial texture is unlike anything else I have owned. The “poor man’s 556.” Titanium coating feels odd to the touch and appears uneven. NH35 movement. Seriously, NH35? Would have gladly paid more for a Miyota 9015. At least the caseback is solid so I don’t have to look at the cheap movement.
Props to WUS user imyourhuckleberry for the idea.

Classic BL!
I'll try.
My collection is so fat, I swerved to miss it in my car and ran out of gas!
I would join in, but... Too many watches, not enough time 😉
"stop copying the timeless watch channel"
...that's it lol

never heard of it???
Frankly, I like this concept. I have lot of old stuff that barely gets any wrist time that I would be happy to not only admit I still own, but also make fun of.
I'm sure others have things that, well, are filed in the "what was I thinking?" cabinet.

Not about to watch a 40 minute video, but thanks. I find most YT videos long-winded and lose interest. There are a handful that hold my attention.
I'll try.

That's a great line....
I can roast myself. 80% of my collection consists of diver watches, yet I can't even swim.
My watches are so cheap, a homeless man gave them to me…
