Ginault Experience
So I’ve had zero personal experience with this brand but a video of their silent service popped up into my YT feed and thought it looked like a nice watch. Anyone here have experience with their other models? I like the hand-built in the US aspect and dig the the lume shots, so thought figured I’d scrape the WC hive-mind for opinions. Thanks! 🍻

Yeh this popped into my YT today, US brand w made by a watchmaker and not designers to the same Rolex type levels. It actually looks nice but I think I would need to have it in hand to have a look as I saw some negative comments on the video about rolled links etc.
Ginault was linked to a Rolex forgery operation a few years ago. Hence the “Rolex level” of quality the reviewers see.
The article is still out on the web. It’s a fascinating read. Wether it’s true or not I can’t say. Even if it is, that wouldn’t dissuade me from a purchase. I’m intrigued by the bad guy gone legit possibility of the story.
No experience with the Silent Service. My Ginualt is the Ocean Rover, purchased in 2018. My impressions: Ginualt makes great watches, build quality is on par with the Swiss brands in my collection, including Rolex, Omega, and Tudor. Ginault bracelets and clasps are certainly as near to Rolex level as any, especially at the price point. Case, dial, hands, indices all executed to a high level. Great lume. Sweet bezel action. The movement in mine is an ETA 2824 clone. Ginualt movement regulation is legit: almost 5 years on and the watch is keeping excellent time, mine averages +0.2 spd.
And unlike the Ocean Rover, the Silent Service doesn’t scream homage, if that matters to you.
