Oil filling a Quartz watch - Casio MRW-200H-1BVES

Hello Watch Friends

I’ve seen a few videos on MODS for oil filling watches and wondered if anyone has done one, I’m thinking of buying a Casio it only costs £13.99 and I’ve seen a few of these MRW-200H-1BVES oil filled, they look really impressive.

THOUGHTS?

Thank you Ben

What kind of oil are you thinking of? Some people use like baby oil but the recommended stuff (3m something something) was like $30 for one or two fluid ounces at which point I lost interest. Surely you know that making it bubble free is tricky (unless you're a weirdo that wants a bubble roaming around inside) and subsequent battery changes mean the whole process gets repeated. And of course you can add some food coloring or other dye to tint things up,

you are spoiling it for me 😂 (battery changes and starting the whole process again)

Do it and post the result!

I've done it to an Addiesdive sub homage. It worked out great, looks good but it eats batteries. I don't see any real advantage to it.

ah, thanks for this, oh well it's a bit of fun in my spare time if I decide to go ahead, still a little reading/watching to go into this first, but if I do it, I'll post it 😀

I'm a fan of oil filled, but you may have known that already.

This is filled with mineral oil that I dyed a light yellow with oil based food dye. Love the effect and thing about doing some other colours too.
