SLGW003 "B" tier? Really?

Might take some heat for this, but did anyone else watch Max's new YT video? I can totally understand the SBGC275 being so low, but the SLGW003 only at B tier? Anyone else have thoughts on this?

B tier is right. While nothing to complian about, it doesn't move the needle for the brand. Sort of average and that's right in the middle with "B".

Yeah I'm also not with Max on this one. I don't really get how the movement is all redesigned and has a bird thingy for winding, but I really like what GS is going with this one, expanding the evolution collection to a smaller and dressier line-up. I'd give it an A, would've been S if it was spring drive.

The case looks dress enough but do not feel too rounded like the SBGY007. Also not too rugged like the original white birch. You know what's even better? 20mm lugs.

I would've loved to see a manual wound spring drive in this case shape, too. Knowing grand seiko, maybe in 5 years 🤣

I haven't watched his video yet but I would've easily given that A tier

I'm a spring drive guy at heart. Still holding out for 38mm spring drive before I would buy with my own money.

He Max, thanks for the response. Not sure I agree. You seem to be saying that just because it doesn't have all the features you particularly want, it means that it should be classified lower tier. By that logic I should give something like a manual wind LANGE 1 a lower rating until they come out with an automatic, which is what appeals to me. With a brand new 9SA4, with a wagtail shaped click and an new textured dial (albeit another white birch), just don't see how this is rated 2 tiers below a new Tudor. Just my 2 cents. I'm officially off my Grand Seiko fanboy soapbox now 🙂

The man is infuriating because he's never dead wrong or dead right, so you can't ever be mad at him

It is a S tier for me. My heart was pretty broken :((

I am also an A vote for this watch... Great technical innovation, interesting materials for the case, attractive case shape and 20mm lug.
