I bought a couple from C24. Every purchase has went well. Some reflections though:
There is no mandatory return if you buy from a private seller.
Depending on your currency you might end up with a poor exchange rate. If I buy from a domestic seller the price is given in local currency but might be different in the transaction due to exchange rate in Euro.
You might get a better offer if you contact the seller directly. They normally have their own website.
Definitely use the built-in escrow service, and buy the seller. I have sold a few watches there but haven’t bought any. If the watch is listed by a known dealer then you’re good and you can research them beyond just chrono 24. If it’s a private seller make sure the info and pics look right. Private sellers are required to take 2 “security” pictures of the watch where they have to set the watch to a specified time when they list it. Make sure those security pics look right (and of course that it looks like the same watch as in the other pics.
I've bought from there with no issues so can recommend it. And if you're in the market for a TAG Heuer Monza then mine is currently for sale on there 🤣🤣🤣 https://chrono24.app/tagheuer/monza--id33581675.htm?SETLANG=en_GB&SETCURR=GBP

Thnx. But I’m not sure what I’m looking for. Just started browsing…

Only joking. However Chrono24 has been around for a long time, a better place to buy than eBay I'd say, although now that eBay offers authentication then it's getting better!

I have bought on Chrono24 with very positive experiences. I would say the same thing for any online purchase. There are no guarantees, so there is always the possibility of a negative experience, but due your due diligence. Check the reviews. Is it a trusted seller? Does the price seem inline with what it is selling for elsewhere? Ask the seller questions first if you have any, or if you require more pictures, ask for them. I would also say eBay with the authentication service is very good as well.

OK. Thnx for the pointers. I’m in India - and I see some local sellers. But a lot are from outside the country.

No worries!

C24 is just a marketplace, like eBay or Facebook Marketplace. Just be smart vetting your seller, and you'll be fine.
