Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
My dad is a huge watch geek. He gifted me a G-Shock when I was 11 or 12 and I’ve been hooked since then.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
A black G-Shock. Not sure what happened to it, but I bought the same model again just for the memories.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My dad used to wear a 16750 GMT Master II (when we lived in South America). He used to let me wear it for special occasions, but it got so damn dangerous that he decided to sell it. Growing up, I wished he hadn’t sold it and, when I started making some money, I focused on buying that watch (or a version of it). After years of hunting, I finally got it (in 2023).
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Be patient. Don’t buy pieces you don’t absolutely love. If you can, keep all of your watches.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Audemars Piguet
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin. Tried it in the AP House in Zurich and it was love at first sight.
