My review on these DIY kits:
It's very beginner friendly
It has all the complete tools you need
Movement holder might not be the best though
Easy enough because the crystal is already embedded in the case, the crown stem is already pre-cut
Good practice to have steady hands! ๐
Favourite part: the dial
Least favourite part: the leather strap (because it's too big, and the bracelet is so much better)
Fun ๐

I love the Sakura dial. I wanted to try it, but I chickened out and commissioned someone else to do it for me instead. I prefer the bracelet over the strap.
That makes sense, as most people wouldn't have a case/crystal press at home. Also aligning the crystal is not trivial depending on the shape of the crystal.
Now that is just cheating! ๐ Measuring the distance between crown and case with calibers, cutting the stem, filing, realizing that it is still too long, then finally tightening the crown with the stem in a pin vise, and using some form of threadlock while screwing it into the crown, is part of the core experience of modding a watch, as you generally don't get a pre-cut stem.
And this is just my OCD talking:Was the stem dry? I think it has about seven 9104 lubrication points.
Otherwise, congratulations on the watch, it looks great. ๐
