Dressier timepieces

I do understand that our society is getting more casual and people do like their watches to have higher WR and robustness of doing their daily activities.

I feel that dressier timepieces has so much more to offer in terms of style, casings, lugs, complications and dials offering.

Just sharing part of my collection and my love for dressier timepieces.

After some introspection I have acknowledged that I will never intentionally wear a watch into a swimming pool. (Are there swimming pools that don't have wall clocks in them?) So I collect almost exclusively because I need to dress up frequently.

I've been wearing my new Citizen AQ4024-53Y for the last couple weeks - the gold touches make it look a little fancier than the usual "what should my single expensive watch be" suspects recommended at this price range, but I like wearing it with a suit and I like wearing it in leisurewear.

Next up, I'd really like to start putting more of my affordables onto good black leather, but I don't have any particular strap brands picked out yet.

Oddly, these look less formulaic than most tool watches. Perhaps there is subtlety and nuance, even creativity and artistry, in that other field and they are not all interchangeable commodities as I see them. Even when a dress watch is of a familiar form, it seems as though there was some effort in rediscovering a sublime design instead of just tracing something bog-standard.

I usually have my straps customized to my wrist size. Choosing the leather and colour that will be able to bring out the contrast or matching the dial colour or details.

I don’t wear suits anymore but my watch preferences run towards dressier watches. I’ll still wear them with jeans and a t-shirt. Here’s one…

I wear t-shirt and shorts with my Reverso too. 🤣

I used to wear suits every day, but the heat in Singapore makes this quite challenging.

Still, my fondness for dress watches persists, as they complement any outfit.

Your moonphase Reverso is phenomenal Sir! I also pair my Reverso with jeans and T-shirts. It adds a touch of elegance to the everyday.😀
