After being on the fence about whether to go vintage or not for a while, I decided to give it a try. Even on a limited budget, you can find interesting pieces like this mechanical hand-wound 1960s French watch with an engine-turned-bezel.

Gorgeous watch! Looks like something I'd buy. 👍
If you purchased online, can you share the site? Thx.
That is an interesting find. Marly is an old Swiss brand, but that watch does not claim to be Swiss. It was definitely intended for a non-English speaking market. It is odd to think of now but many watch manufacturers used French made movements to cut costs in the 1960's.

I bought it on ebay. Seller’s name is ccookies1. He puts up for auction new pieces every week (normally French and Swiss vintage). I already have two watches from him, so I would definitely recommend.

Thank you for this information! I couldn’t find much about the brand online. I assumed it was a French one as, indeed, the watch uses a Lorsa (French) movement. On the back is written “bte s.g.d.g”, which I believe stands for “Breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement“ (patent without government guarantees), a type of patent used in France.

I already have this seller saved. Vintage French dive watches are a thing of beauty and that seller always has some.
