Both those watches are nice.  I gifted my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical to one of my closest friends.  If I ever replace it, it will likely be with a CWC.

I think Marathon GPM, or GPQ would be a reasonable alternative. Personally I went with a Marathon Navigator, and a GSAR. 

Marathon is like CWC, in that they both make military watches to this day.
