Quartz Supremacy

I started collecting watches because I was tired of smartwatches and found them too distracting. I have tried a couple of automatics but have always come back to quartz since accuracy does matter to me, and I prefer looking at my watch for the time rather than my phone and consequently getting sucked in by the notifications.

The one thing I hate the most about quartz is the need to change their batteries, that's why I mostly bought one with Solar charging now

Agreed.

Nothing is more inconvenient than having to change a battery every 3-10 years.

I have a few high end quartz watches that required that I bring them to authorized repair centers for something simple like battery replacements. Everytime I drop off my watches, they will always find something wrong that I knew shouldn’t exist or require attention. That reason alone ended further acquisitions of quartz watches for me.

Actually, not quite true, the only quartz watches I will buy nowadays are those that I wouldn’t mind if they disappear one day for some reason.

You do have a good collection there, though.

It's not a problem until you have tens of them
