Glycine Airman: The Chief Purist

Been a major Glycine fan for some time, and finally ordered the GL0245 as a Graduation gift to myself. I love the value for money the brand offers, especially for the looks/history.

If anyone owns this piece currently, what do you think? Anything in particular I should be aware of? (Yes, I know it might be harder to tell the time. This doesn’t phase me) Thanks y’all.

Don’t have one, but I’ve been looking at the chief purist for quite some time. Great looking watch with legit history. I’m sure I’ll own it someday. Very nice 👌

Very nice. I own a GL0412 and truly enjoy the piece. I'm considering locating a vintage model. ⌚💸

I own the Airman No 1 in 36mm. Well finished, very accurate. I’m very happy with it.

Gorgeous.

Had one years ago, but because it was part of the rotation I never got used to being able to read it at a glance, so I sold it. Wish I still had it 😞

Actually, this is the GMT version, not the Purist. The main tell is that the Purist only has 3 hands.

P.S. for those who come across this post and wonder what the mechanical difference is:

  • Most “Purist”s use a GMT movemnt that omits the main hour hand. So the arrow hand is on the GMT pinion(?) and there is nothing on the main, 12-hour hand pinion.

  • The “GMT version” is just a conventional GMT with all the hands in the usual places.
