Seiko 7T62 movement help

Hello I’ve just changed the battery on my sna411 Flightmaster with 7T62 movement.

The seconds hand is not moving.

All other functions work.

When I first inserted the battery the seconds hand DID move one second forward and one second backwards and repeated that a couple times and then stopped.

hour and minute hand (main time ) seem to be stopped and not keeping time.

in photos you can see the minute chrono hand is at 59 all that’s a problem I can deal with later.

Chrono and alarm work fine

Double check the battery and make sure that its the right one thats supposed to be in there. That has done weird things to my other watches that had the wrong battery. Also, check for debris that might have fallen into the watch when the battery was changed. Check that all the connections to the battery are also ok.

I love my flight master and I hope yours gets back to working order.

Also might not be working because its on a pagani design strap....(just kidding)

Im serious. I’ve been messing with it for 2 hours. Taking the battery out battery in. Tighten case back, mess with chrono. Try to touch batt and ac with small wire.

I removed the case back and removed battery for the 10th time. Touched bay and ac again for the 4th ish time. CHANGED STRAP for laughs …. It’s working….

Some of those like the Seiko quartz need to be shorted at the movement to work right.

from web:

SOURCE: I have a seiko flight watch, unknown of the model, second hand doesn't reset

I guess the blue faced SEIKO is a Flightmaster (Model: 7T92- OCFO)and it is a great watch. This is a common problem with most chronographs and this happens due to misalignment with usage. All you need to do is pull out the locking crown all the way out (2nd Step) as if setting time. and then press and hold the top / left button and at first the milli seconds hand resets. after which you have to press the borrom / right button to move the seconds hand in to place. and then reset the time and lock the crown. You can repeat this for Milli Seconds, Seconds, Minutes & hours hands.

Nice! I was gonna say it sounded like it needed a reset. All those functions get confused sometimes 😜
