Hot Take (Fake Mechanical vs Cheap Quartz)
Hot take of the day…I’d rather have a cheap quartz watch on my wrist from a no name than to walk around with a fake mechanical Rolex. No cap.

Totally agree, at least you have authenticity on your wrist with the quartz. Wearing a fake, I'd imagine could be embarrassing if your found out by another collector.
So if Rolex was removed from the dial, then which do you prefer? 🤔
I hate fakes. Just bad taste.
I've seen a couple of disassembly videos of Rolex "Super-fakes" in the $500 range and they looked like solid movements with excellent regulation out of the box.
I'd prefer a fake Rolex, quartz or not. I guess the cheap quartz might be lighter or slimmer, but who doesn't enjoy goofing on Rolex?
I'll go without a watch before wearing a branded fake.

A good branded watch of any kind is better then a fake. Get what you like, but why try to impress others with a fake? Most people don’t care and watch enthusiasts would rather hear your story of why you own what’s in your collection.
Never trust the man who says his Rolex is fake, he may do it only to make you feel proud of yourself. Then he may sell you an overpriced cheap quartz watch.

Ohh nah neva that. I can’t get behind a straight fake. If you got to get something affordable so you don’t have to risk an expensive watch then go for a homage watch.

I have two homages in my collection. Don't have an issue with them. Fakes however are just uncool as well as that your supporting crime syndicates.
