It was a seiko valentine's day ❤

While stuffing my amazon cart full of gifts for my better half I came across this seiko 5 "landshark" and after some quick reading and learning this watch has been discontinued I wasted no time reaching into my piggy bank and adding this to my order, really is a shame this model has been discontinued because the watch is very robust and well made and by all accounts a workhorse, not a true diver or field watch but can do both at the end of the day.

The movement is antiquated but strong and well made along with the watch not having many features it's still elegant and can be worn in many occasions, the compass is a bit gimmicky but definitely gives the watch character and a unique quirk so I couldn't be happier and look forward to lots of wrist time with this beast

I agree. This is a great model. Shame.

It's what a seiko should be I love it and there's still some new ones floating around I got lucky

Similar to the reasoning I used to get a new old stock SNXS73. Despite being out of production there were so many made they’re only now coming to the last of them. Despite the “antiquated” movement, they’re a nice inexpensive mechanical watch. 👊

No doubt I've read reviews of people buying early models and even without servicing still running fine
