Has Anyone made it on to a watch list ?

Today while the security guard was distracted, I managed to sneak onto the sacred ground of the god level tier of high horology. While I was trying to take in the exalted air and atmosphere, of plastic and resin and the subtle glow of TN and STN LED screens. I was accosted by one of the zen like masters of God level horology with a black belt in functions and an Eidetic memory for specs. I thought he was going to throw me out but was completely thrown when he asked if he could help. The guy must have thought I was someone else, grabbing the opportunity with both hands I tentatively asked if I could look at. A Casio Oak, the guy didn’t even pause and asked which model as they had some in stock. Now I knew he had me confused with some one who had made it to the list and would need to set him straight. When I asked him how long the waiting list was, he replied that there wasn’t one and why I thought there would be. I told him the internet is a wash with people trying to get on lists for watches and I knew how the game was played, the blank stare was understandably a ruse as with this level of plastic goodness us mere peasants can only aspire too gain inclusion on the sacred list it would have been too much, at this early stage of relationship building. I said I was willing to buy several lesser watches to build some credibility to make the list. He again told me there was no list and why I thought I would need to buy things I didn’t want to be able to buy a watch they had in stock. Obviously, it was a bit of a joke by the normal sales staff. The guy was probably new trying to show off on his first day. Feeling frustrated and feeling I was getting nowhere I left Has anyone else had a similar experience trying to buy a watch where you are so far down the list, they tell you it doesn’t exist.
