AVI-8 Hawker Harrier II Automatic

The AVI-8 Hawker Harrier II automatic is a huge watch with a case diameter of 47mm and lug width of 24mm, though its thickness only 11mm. The case houses a Miyota movement with a date complication. This aviation inspired watch pays tribute to the Hawker Harrier fighter. Overall it wears quite well and not too heavy. The lume is quite bright and In general, it’s quite easy to read.

I first saw it at a secondhand store, and was very intrigued. After trying it on, I decided it was too big for me so I put it back. I would often visit the secondhand shop and would always see it still sitting in the glass cabinet on display. After a few times of trying it on and putting it back, I decided to purchase it. I wore it for a couple of hours then I realized I actually really enjoyed wearing this watch.

Some of those good deals on huge watches make great donor movements for a smaller build.

Possible. I like this watch a lot. I think I’ll keep it the way it is though. It’s only a Miyota movement 😅

Avi-8 makes some really nice looking automatic watches. I have two (both newer limited edition ones) and I love both.

I also have an older quartz hawker harrier, the movement is like completely shot tho and I need to find out what movement it uses so I can replace it
