Picked Up A Neo Vintage Zenith

Just delivered🛫

I bought a neo vintage Zenith Elite Port Royal from the early 2000s over Black Friday. I wasn’t too sure how it would fit my wrist but took a chance. The Black Friday discount was too good to pass up. I’ve been eyeing a rectangle watch for a while.

The obvious choice was a Cartier tank but was way over my budget. The next was an Alpina Caree but I wasn’t feeling the dial. Then I stumbled on this piece from a video on Watch Box. I went down the rabbit hole on the Port Royals and decided on this piece. The small second hands on the 9 position did it for me. The non intrusive date wheel is also a plus. But what really got me was the dial with the different design of the numerals and dial.

Btw sorry for the pic it was a quick one.

OK...I have never seen that one before. Really cool! Not quite as wild as this Credor, so far more wearable.

It looks pretty hefty. How does it wear? If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back?

Edit: Ok...now you have sent me down a rabbit hole! These are REALLY cool! Thanks for adding to my insanity. 😜

lol the watch collecting insanity is real. It was under $1500 for this. The seller also has the white dial version at $2k USD. This has heft. I tried on the tank on a bracelet and this feels heftier. One of the reasons why I bought was also the wrist presence. It’s 31x44. It’s a little squat type of watch and has a lot of presence.

Great pick 👍🏻

A top quality and heritage brand, with a unique underappreciated model 💪🏻

Great looking rectangular piece 👌🏻

Love the square case!

You know you are getting old when a watch you bought brand new is now considered "neo-vintage". I have a similar watch I bought back in 2003 with the El Premiero movement instead of the Elite. Congrats on the purchase.
