Update on the Rust Situation...
So I sent the watch with the rust problems to @ThirdWatch for a proper cleaning. I figured the best place for my watch to get the proper care it deserves would be in the hands of a fellow cruncher. 😎 Apologies in advance to all you other guys that could have done it / would like to have done it, but he offered, and my gut told me it was the right move. 😀 No pressure, dude. 😉 LOL 🤣
Third-Watch: I mailed the watch this morning, with UPS Ground. You will have it sometime on Monday. 😀

Like I said, something in my gut told me it was the right move 😀 Cheers! 🍻 I hope to see a post (or maybe a YouTube video!) on the cleaning process, if you have the time. 😀 (If not, don't sweat it.) I just like the idea of sending it to someone who is really passionate about watches.
The feeling I get from all the local jewelers (3 of 'em) that I've been to is that all of them see watch repair as a tedious job that they are reluctant to do. It seems to me that they'd rather be selling engagement and wedding rings. I guess they have to make a living like everyone else, but they sure don't seem very enthusiastic about watches. And as far as I have found, there are no dedicated watch repair / watch sales shops in my immediate area. 😕 Dallas is the nearest city (3 hr drive) where "high horology" is in vogue! 🤣 (I use the word horology loosely, in a joking fashion. I'm no horologist. 🤣 .)
I’ve been considering doing some YouTube or TikTok. I just restored 2 watches for a coworker last week one of which required custom milling the end links.
A new movement and o-rings will go a long way. Fixing a quartz movement is not cost effective.

There isn't anything wrong with the watch; I sent it to him for preventative maintenance (rust removal / cleaning.) 😀
